    Hello Maverick/Comet forums,

This is regarding my 1974 Maverick 250 inline 6

I am attempting to wire wheel /rattle can primer my engine bay to clean it up. On the driver side, when I removed the seat belt button from the wall, the harness/cable leading to the seat belt button broke off.

I tried to remove the piece from the harness to repair, but it’s in there good - don’t think I can remove without damage.

My question, since I already have the other 3 or 4 wires on the car harness tied together to bypass the seat belt feature, can I just remove the seat belt button all together?

if I do need the seat belt button, can someone provide me with a item number or a link to the seat belt button harness?

    thanks all!

I removed the button on my '74 inner fender. I also unplugged and removed the yellow box from under the dash and zip-tied the harness plug to something under the dash either on the pedal support or wiper motor support.

    Thank you!

Is the unplugging and removal of the yellow bow required? Or can I get away with just leaving it in place?

Do you happen to have a picture of the box in place? Or location of where to locate it?

    Thanks again!

You can leave the box plugged and screwed to the dash. My box was laying on the floor but it looked like it was mounted about center of dash.
