    just registered and need help on my 197o maverick. new solonoid switch and i believe i have the wiring wrong. thanks for any help dlu1932@gumlog.net

    :Welcome: to the board. I don't know what we're gonna do if we keep getting more Georgia guys in here...will probably have to build an addition. :huh:
    As for the wiring on your solenoid, there should be only one large wire on the back side going down to the starter. The remaining wires with the big eyelets go to the front battery side. The two small wires of course go on the small terminals, red/blue stripe towards the front, reg/green stripe to the rear. Hope this helps. Let us know if you continue to have any problems.Just be careful, you don't want us to have to send Hawko over there.:D

    thank you for the welcome and info. the solonoid works fine now that you told me how to wire it..thanks again...i have one other problem and maby you or someone can help me. i don't know if my maverick is a 70 or 71. the vin number is ok91t312642f...thanks for any help...dlu1932@gumlog.net

    Dave, it's a 70. The 1st digit tells the year.

    thanks very much for the 1970 info. the registration said 71, but i was told before it was a 70. youe info helped me a lot...thanks again...dave...dlu1932@gumlog.net

    no black hood. it now has gray primer on it. have been working on the body...dave
