My front kick panels do that whole white chalk when scratched thing. Are they still paint-able? Any treatment to fix them for paint?

When mine started doing that I cleaned them with acetone and then sprayed with rattle can of plastic dye I got from off the shelf somewhere local (Advance Auto?). 'Course mine are black so it was easy. Also did the rears and the back seat so everything matched.

I would pull them out and scrub with soap and water using a plastic scrub brush. Follow with a clear water rinse. Get a spray can of adhesion promoter for plastic painting, then paint to match the interior.

Well for better or for worse, I cleaned. Sprayed with adhesive promoter and plastic paint. Hope I saved myself some $$
