Just wondering how many mav/comet owners would be interested in having a cruise-in/meet somewhere down here close to hte border(Tx-La border that is!). Hopefully I will have the 302 in the mav:D(Quick as I have time to quit runnin' this 200 and let it cool off!lol), and then I'll get my passenger side door fixed that was mangled by a kid at church:( . After all that, how about a cruise down here? BTW- just how many Maverick/Comet owners are in this general area- East Texas, Louisiana, West Miss., and Southern Arkansas? Just wondering. Someone let me know if anybody's interested. Till Then, Preston

    Hi Preston!

Well, I'm in Houston but Pegasus is not ready-for-prime-time yet (stripped to be powder coated), but would like to meet you some time!

Doug (out Tex rep) is about 2 hours out of Houston. He and myself are looking for any Mav enthusiasts in the area.

Even though I can't bring my car, I would certainly attend.

    Thanks,
    Tracy

Were are you located, Country Mav?

We will be tenatively having a mini-meet in Waco this fall at the local Ford dealership. I'll keep you posted when they set the date.

I'd be gain to meet on the state line sometime, too. I've talked about coming to Houston in a couple of weeks, so maybe we could meet then. I've been known to drive a Maverick to Houston on occasion! [IMG]

I'd drive mine to the meet except Pegasus hasn't finished restoring it yet ;).

I can also attest to DAB driving (one of) his Mav's to and from H'town - without much problem (BTW, how is that linkage holding up Doug? :D )

    Good so far.....

Hey ya'll, I'm in Merryville La, juuuuusssttt inside the la border from texas. My mav has probably about a month(hopefully that's all:rolleyes: ) before he is COMPLETELY road worthy, so after that, I'd be game to try something. Does the extra time help at all for ya'll? Let me know, thanks, Preston

    Sabine River meet

Well we'll have to get together. Let's plan on it!

Country Mav: You didn't get any shuttle pieces in Merryville did you? (Pretty close to you)!

Rick: Yes, my Grabber still has BOTH reverse AND forward gears! Thanks!

No I haven't gotten any pieces right here at the house, but yes a lot is being found preety close by. Course I haven't checked every piece of area around here(I live 20 miles from town, so there's plenty to check), so I guess I'll just keep my eyes open.

---So far the Maverick seems to be rolling along pretty close to on schedule( Or as close as you can get to on-schedule with body-work and mechanicing) so we'll keep the cruise in mind. Ya'll just let us know how your progress is on your cars so we'll be sure and get together when everybody's through. Take Care, Preston

Well Hey! Since I can't bring Pegasus, I'll offer to powdercoat one "doohickey", no charge, from every person's Mav that attends! (bring a spare, it'll take a day or two to get through them all!). What the heck, even if your Mav or Comet isn't quite ready to make the trip, bring something anyway.

DAB, we gotta get the SE Texas area built up a bit!

    Regards,
    Tracy

[Sorry, Will, the post had gotten so long, I had forgotten you were up there]

By the way, is Runum a club member? (That came as a provision of buying your car, didn't it)?

    Louisiana Meet

Hey guys, I'm in Mississippi so I'd be all for a meet in that area. Depending on the date, I'm sure I could get one of my cars there. Oh yeah, Pegasus...I might just take you up on that free powder coating for one item. A body is "ONE" item, right? :)
You guys let me know if anything materializes on this...I've been a Maverick owner for 29 years and have yet to make it to a Maverick meet. I'd love to make it.
    Ray
