The stuff from PA Performance arrived yesterday. The particular alternator I ordered was the 95 amp model. It has a rated max output of 120 amps under heavy load. The idle amp rating is 60. I also ordered the stock appearance conversion kit and their own main power wire which contains a heavy duty replaceable fuse. The instructions that come with the parts are clear and have pictures. This alternator does carry the lifetime warranty. The alternator is a 5" case which makes it an exact size fit...very nice. I also ordered their pulley which you can choose any of the styles depending on whether you have a one or two v-belt system or have converted to a serpentine belt. You can just use the one from your existing alternator if you choose. They do offer powdercoating options on the alternators for an extra charge. The part numbers and prices are... 1614-6B1 Alternator Kit, 95 amp 3G, plain finish $169 24-1101 Pulley, 2 v belt $8 462802C 3G conversion kit (use where stock wiring exists and is re-used) OEM/restoration applications $26.95 9904-A Alternator power wire kit, 31", standard short w/fuse holder 200amp $31.50 Shipping was $8.34 and I had to pay tax as it is a Pennsylvania company. I'll do a pictorial when I actually do the retrofit. It looks like a very easy job according to the instructions packaged.
Yes, it is. The conversion kit gives the appearance of a three wire with an external regulator for the stock appearance and utilizes the stock wiring. It ends up being a functional part of the hookup, but can be installed as a simple one wire if you wished without the kit. The alternator is internally regulated.
That sounds great...looking forward to seeing the pics. And the prices really aren't that bad either.
