Anyone know for sure if there is a difference in the 4 door and 2 door bucket seats and tracks? I found a pair cheap but need to confirm first.

Search the forum .... 2-doors and 4-doors used same seat tracks for the buckets. Of course ... cat and non-cat still apply ...

    2 vs 4

The 4 door buckets may not fold forward to allow
access to the back seat if used in a 2 door car.

I am wondering if there is some mod that can be made to have them tilt or if they are forever fixed in that position.

Yes there are bolts on each side preventing it from going forward ... easily removed. However, after looking at 2-door buckets - stops will have to be fabricated so the seat back has support when put upright ... I have 4-door buckets in my 74 and will probably leave the bolts in ...

The early 60's Mustangs used a simple screw through a plastic button about 1/2" thick for stops, one on the backrest and one on the seat cushion positioned so that when the seat was upright the buttons were on top of each other. An old trick before reclining seats became readily available was to shave down or remove one or both of the buttons to get a little more rearward lean on the backrest. I don't know if the Maverick seats are the same or not but it seems like they would have a metal crossmember in the rear of the seat in the same place where you could use a self drilling screw with one of these buttons to effect the same thing. Mustang supply houses probaby stock the buttons, if not, you could use nylon bushings from a parts house.
