Does anyone know if a 76-77 locking gas cap will fit a 70 maverick? I'm in need of a gas cap and I really like this one design. Thank you everyone for reading and answering my question.

I believe no. The ears are different and one is vented vs non vented.

You could change the filler neck.

I emailed you a list of parts I have, including (2) different gas caps.

how involved is that? I know on my 70 the neck is just rubber booted to the tank. Would a 71-77 neck line up? same hole pattern? Venting an issue?

Swapping will not work on a 1970 tank.

Not trying to hijack but does anyone know where to get the rubber gasket for a 77 Mav gas cap?
