You've already seen the 4-door buckets in my 2-door 74. I decided to leave the bolt in place preventing them from coming forward ... no biggie for me.

The upholstery shop finished the rear seat bottom converting the 4-door to a 2-door ...

They used the 4-door upholstery, trimmed it down, trimmed down the 4-door seat bun and then mounted it all on the 2-door seat frame. It came out perfect. The 4-door back has the lower mount points setup different than a 2-door .. for now I just bent them out of the way so the seat back fit in properly ....

Yup ... I just swapped the back rear seat upholstery from the 4-door frame to the 2-door frame also. The lower portion where the screws hold it in was different. After removing I don't know how many hog rings from the two rear cushions I finally slipped the LDO cushion onto the 2-door frame and it fits perfect. Of course - my Cheapo Hog Ring Pliers broke on the second hog ring during re-installation!:mad::mad:

Mustangs Unlimited .. same crap ... I was wondering why there were only $2.95 ... they were made out of pot metal .. I just ordered a real set from an upholstery supply place for $13. Oh ... and in my search I found out why they are called hog rings ... they are also used by butchers for sealing sausages after the casings are stuffed .. hog rings ... I never knew ....

    well, my :2cents:

When I was little my dad and I raised a few hogs for a couple of years, and we would use the funky looking pliers and hog rings and put them through the hog's nose (in the meat of the center, between the nostrils) in order to keep them from digging out of the pen ........ I thought that was why they were called hog rings??

My grandmas hogs always had them in their noses too.I always thought thats why they were called hog rings.Maybe it depends on what part of the country you are from.Another little tid bit, hook a rope to that ring and you can lead one around with no problem at all.Back on your seats,I really like the vinyl material that they are made out of.Looks like its very heavy (thick). The vinyl in my 70 seems thin, more like a cover than actual upolstery. Its original and in good shape, with the checker plaid mod look,if and when I replace it I'm going with thicker material.
