How much air are you running in your skinny tires? I am showing a wear problem with mine (165/80 r-15) after 4 or 5 k miles. The alignment is good and no shake or steering problems, drive straight and centered. In this pic it looks like a lot of wear difference from one side to the other, but it's only 1/32 by the tire depth gauge. Biggest difference in wear is the sides to the middle. I'm running 36 psi and wondering if I should increase that some. Wheel is Weld Prostar, 3.5 inch wheel. IMG_20190125_160243226copy.jpg

That says toe in is off to me. If it were an under inflation issue, wear would be exaggerated on both inner and outer edge. Over inflation exaggerates wear down the center.

Eric toe is good 1/8 toe in. There is wear on both inside and outside just 1/32 more on the inside. Thanks for your help.

I would think the 1/8 toe would be for a 6-7" rim.

I'm thinking you probably right; 1/8 toe for wider wheel/tire combo.

Toe in compensates for mass of wheel at highway speeds. Rolling resistance pushes wheels rearward, so in theory, toe at that point should be zero. As mentioned, 1/8" is for heavy, stock wheels, a light & narrow combo would probably be happier at 1/16" or maybe even 1/32". Also when combined with excessive toe, a negative camber setting of more than ¼* will increase inner tire wear. Of course handling may be better at ½-¾*, corner carving and skinnys aren't exactly a happy marriage.

Thing is there is no exact setting, only generalities. It's mostly trial and error for a given vehicle and wheel, tire combo.

I'll give 1/32 a try, what you say sounds good, thanks.
