So i have a 5.0 in my Mav. Im about to change oil pan gasket. Im going to do a felpro 1 piece. Do i get it for the maverick front sump oil pan or 5.0 rear sump oil pan? Because these are two different part numbers meaning to different parts. They look the same but obviously if they're two different part numbers for different
Unless your shock towers have been removed and suspension changed you have a front sump, easy enough to figure out by just looking at your pan you have on it, if its deep in the front then it is a front sump
Okay I miss understood what you were asking, from what I have read it has to do with the rails on the oil pan itself. Here is some info I dug up on it. Like anything else you read sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.l https://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/one-piece-oil-pan-gasket.729980/
The following is the Fel-Pro one piece gasket I used on my 5.0L. Fel-Pro Oil Pan Gaskets SFLOS34508R The price at Summit Racing is $5 less than I paid 7 years ago. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-os34508r
If your oil dipstick is in the side of the block...Get the 5.0 gasket. If its in the front cover...get the old school gasket. Either way get the one piece gasket.
AFAIK.. the blocks pan rails are the same for all 302's which is what matters. Pick a brand, Ford, felpro, mr gasket, etc, of 1 piece design with steel cored crush limiters and go with it.
