if it had a 289 in it, the 302 should drop right in. hope it is what you and she want.:)

Thanks everybody. Got the new Maverick home a few minutes ago. It cost me an 8 month olf Road demon. I got an extra comet hood and a c-4 thrown into the deal plus a shifter.
If these pictures take right here's a few of them on the trailer

That's a 6-cylinder throttle cable ... and I don't see a cross member in that pic ... That is more than likely an original 6-cylinder car ...

Congrats Clint...looks like a great car. I think I'd have to get rid of those rear shackles though...never did like the looks of those. You guys got a nice start there. Good luck with it and keep us posted on the progress.

Ray, I agree, the shackles will be going.
Thanks for all the responses, man I feel welcome here. great forum.
The guy I got the car from put one of his 289's in the car when he got it. it did'nt have an engine in it when he got it. I also think it's an original 6 car but that's ok. It'll be a v-8 from now on.

You know, I was looking at the same picture that I took and thinking, what is that? I had to go out and look at the car. lol
He did give me what I think is the tranny cross member. It's only about 14" long but looks like it has bolt holes patterned for the tranny mount.
Does anyone have any pictures of what the v-8 mounts and frame brackets look like. Pictures of what I need to get to put the v-8 in besides the actual engine mounts up against the block.
