I need to know how to get the fuse box out so I can inspect it. I can see it but I don't know how to remove it.
There is a bolt on the middle of it. Loosen it up (the bolt will not remove all the way) and pull the panel out.
I've loosened the bolt but I can't figure out which direction I need to push it or pull it to slide it out from under the bolt
Once the bolt is loosen up - just pull on the black block straight away from the firewall - it is a plug with about 15 or so pins. Comes straight back. Never twist it - just try to pull it evenly.
I need to be able to clean it up. Its got a little rust on the contacts. It's one of the areas that was being soaked before I fixed the cowl leak. (Also some of the fuses look corroded on the inside)
The firewall side of the plug has two tabs on the sides that need to be squeezed in order to remove it. The tabs grab on the inside of the firewall. Micah
It doesn't need to be. See http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/fuse-panel-relocation.64243/page-2#post-785539
My fuse block is junk. I'll definitely be switching to an atc fuse block. Do they have some with screw type terminals so I don't have to crimp or solder?
Check some of the aftermarket harness/fuse block makers. http://www.haywireinc.com/ http://kwikwire.com/ www.wiringproducts.com www.painlessperformance.com
You can buy the clips for the fuse box if that is what you need. http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb...~S5450VKGBB71923623932A~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50001018o
I most likely will go with a modern fuse block because I haven't figured out a good way to change these glass fuses out. Plus I don't have a soldering iron/don't know how to solder.
