    This is my short history,
When I ignite the engine of my mav, can happen 2 things:

    1. it work fine, Im not feel nothing wrong, the second things
    2. it work fine when I push the accelerator, but when the mav is stop in a corner or traffic light, I feel something like moves, wags, shake, and i hear like the engine going to turn off but its not happens, but the moves follow the whole day when I stop the mav.

the only constant is that I dont know in that status will be my car the next day, maybe my car has feelings and some days dont wanna to work. :)

I know that could be something of tuning in the carburetor, but it was made recently, I have been noting that the problems begins just a few days after the tuning, and this has been in the lasts 3 or 4 tuning.

The question is, what happens with my car, is clearly that is the carburetor, but is time for new carburetor??? or what!!!?? Please, help, I dont want to pay for a new carburetor if I not need it! maybe some tips could to help.

    Thank you for any help.

when was the last time you checked the wires for the alternator and battery....if it sometimes....then you need to look at a possible loose wire..........

try checking the wires going from the battery to the starter solenoid on the fender apron......then check the wires going to the started and finally to the alternator.....check for any loose wires or bare wires that may be grounding out to the chassis...

if those are all good....and your alternator is working then it could be a dirty fuel filter...try changing it out......

if the carb has been rebuilt then it might not be the carb

also try checking the distributor.....it might have bad points.....

remember....you need 3 things for the engine to run......spark....fuel and air....

air isnt a problem unless you have a bag over the carburetor....so check the fuel and the spark...(electrical)

hope that gets you started at least..........

Sounds to me like the carb is running rich (too much fuel) at idle. I would double check the adjustment of the idle mixture screws. Turn them all the way in untill just lightly seated, not tight or you can damage them. Then back them out 1 1/2 to 2 turns. That should allow the engine to run. Finally adjust each one for maximum manifold vacuum at idle. You'll have to go back and forth between them a couple times. If you don't have a vacuum gauge you can use a tachometer and set for maximum rpm.

Could Be Float Level To Low Also , Most Carbs Have The Jets At Rear Of Bowl, So When You Are Stopping Or Turning Sharp Fuel Rushes Away From Jets Causing Motor To Stumble Or Even Die! Just Another Idea:hmmm:

This is no Joke, I used to carry a"rock":slap: under my front seat. When the car would start doing what it sounds like your describing, I'd take out the rock:huh: tap the float on the carb. The car would straighten up, I'd put the rock back under my seat until the next time:banghead: did this for about a year:coco: Then I traded the carb. Did wonders for a sticking float though:bananaman

:D I've heard of bailing wire, duct tape, hose clamps and ty-raps being used when you didn't have the proper tools, but a rock? How 'bout a small hammer? :smash:

When it first started, I was on the road. Didn't have any tools with me, pulled over found the rock, put it in the car till I got home. Didn't do it again for a couple of days, when it did,I thought about the rock. No reason to put a hammer in the car when the rock worked so well.LOL
