73 comet grille wanted

I'm looking for a 73 comet grille, mine is busted.

One post is all you need, put it in the wanted section and call it good. Keep flooding the board with the same stuff in multiple sub forums and you might get some unwanted attention from the moderators.

 

Sorry about that! I went to the only junkyard in the state that has these cars in stock and met outrageous prices for a short selection of parts. Got a little stressed after that. I love my car but at the same time I don't want so spend a fortune restoring it...

 

No need to apologize to me, just want to help keep you out of hot water with the mods! I can certainly appreciate what you're dealing with, all the yards around me are full of newer cars, not one Maverick or Comet in the area. I'd start my own like RW Brooks, Junrai and Craig if it wouldn't land me in divorce court!!!

What did you consider "outrageous prices"?

 

$525 for a door (which I bought), $525 for a hood, $600 for one quarter panel (I need two). They had no bumpers or grills.

 

All those prices are sky high.... I will buy a nice door for $200-$300 dollars. A nice hood for $300 (comet might be a bit more) and a quarter for $200 (if I pull it).

 

That's what I was thinking.

 

I was curious what others would charge for parts. Even I will admit those prices are high.
