I removed the cable while working on the car and I didnt mark where the other end connected. I know it bolts on somewhere but cant figure out where. Its the main negative cable that runs directly from the battery. Can anyone tell me where I need to connect it?
I know this is an old thread but... I am looking to replace my negative cable. Hard time finding one that matches it. My neg. cable has a "clamp holder" on it that is clamped directly to the bare wire and then bolted down to the bolt holding the regulator. Does the regulator "need" this direct ground to the battery? If so where does one find a negative battery cable?
Yes there needs to be a connection from battery to block and another to body... Before Ford took the cheap route and used one cable for both connections, the battery cable connected directly to block with a second smaller cable from block to body... Wheather it's at the regulator or elsewhere makes no difference, but must be a connection to body...
Mustang parts places sell a negative cable like an original. Maybe not "Maverick" original....at least FoMoCo similar.
