Headrests

would any 1971 Mercury Comets have come from the factory without headrests (bench)or did all bench seats come with them ?

 

I haven't seen a Maverick or Comet bench seat that didn't have head rests.

 

I was talking to a guy and he swears it’s original but I really don’t think so , it needs reupholstered anyway so I guess we’ll see when the cover comes off.

 

All bench seats had headrests starting in 1969.....federally mandated.
