73 pinto bumpers on a 72 maverick

    i was at a parts show this weekend and saw a pair of 73 oem bumpers for a 73 pinto (D3FT-17757-A) does anyone know if they will fit on my 1972 maverick? if they will ,i can really use them . thanks, mark

    73 LDO, 72 Sprint, 70 Grabber.
    They will not fit. The only bumper that will fit on Mavs are Mav bumpers. Of course with some customization and work, anything can be made to fit. I'd wait around for a set of Mav bumpers.

    Corbin, is it just that they are too narrow ? Just wondering because I found a perfect one in the boneyard.

    I think the front is too narrow,but the rear is all wrong-it wraps around the body(like the front)it supposed to "kick up" on either end like a mustang.

    By how much is the front too narrow? I could make it work if it just an inch or two per side.I can get the pinto bumper for @ten bucks and it is nice.

    Get it, try it, post results, post pic...
    If it doesn't work, you are out 10 bux, until you find someone else that needs a nice Pinto bumper.
