I'm takeing the5 lug disc brakes off a 76 mav and reinstalling them on what will used to be a 4 lug l72 Comet. The local parts store did a part check and determined the only parts that weren't the same were the outer and inner tie rods and of course the spindle. I have limited time to remove the parts since the city wants us to remove the car from the driveway by this Wendsday. The brakes are non powered. The master cylinder is wasted but I should probably get the equalizer valve. Anybody with some suggestions would be appreciated. Also, both the doner 76 Mav and the 72 Comet have power steering.

just go to the parts store and get new tie rod ends for a 76 mav...since you are in there and have to get the alignment done anyhow, you might as well put in new ones. when you go to put your comet together, and cash permitting, may as well get new lower control arms (new ball joints out of this deal) and maybe new ball joints for the uppers too. then the whole front is basically re-done. my .02.

actually it's called "learned my lesson syndrome." out first mav had just the disc swap done. three months later the car had some real bad ball joint problems and a repair bill.(didn't know at that time how to change 'em) funny thing was when i went through inspection i asked about the ball joints... they said the ball joints were fine. live n learn.
