    Hi everyone. Can anybody tell me where I can get an accurate diagram for the vacuum lines under the hood of my 73 Mercury Comet 250 straight six? I'd like too eliminate most of them, lol. I think my lines may be all crossed from the former owners. Thanks guys.

    Just make sure the vac port on front of dist is connected to either ported vac on carb or straight manifold vac(I prefer ported as that's what Ford used for years prior)... Plug/cap everything else off, done... if you have A/C there will be a line that connects to vacuum canister, but is not used on vehicles with heat only...

    BTW the large vacuum line to PCV should remain connected...

    Thanks, great info. Can I eliminate the three way solenoid on the pass side of motor? Is that just for the ambient temp gauge?

    You will need vacuum to the transmission if an automatic.

    Thanks guys. Yeah I saw that tranny line from vacuum block on pass side. Figured was for trans since ran back. Thanks again for the info guys. Always great people on here.
