ok here we go.I changed my u joints and after the idiot cut through my tranny yoke we took it to drive train in london ontario. It cost the idiot 100 bucks to get a adapter for a different tranny yoke and he straightened my drive shaft. So the problem now other than the clunking in the back when i let off the gas at low speeds 80km or lower there is a huge thud in the back. Also at 65 and 100 the car does a steady vibration you can feel it in the floor and the gas pedal . IT IS REALLLY REALLY REALLY ANNOYING CAN SOME ONE HELP ME OUT HERE THANKS.
all new tires are new shocks are new also the upper ball joints have been done.Dont know about the rim but shouldnt they tell me that when they install the tires.Could it be the wheel bearings.
only if they sell "rims" and yes it could be a bearing....on the tires.. you can get "bad" new ones...frank... p.s. i had four new tires put on and had a blow out on the way home.
Blown76 pretty much sums it up. That pin which goes thu the diff. gears is usually the culprit. Wears the hole in the carrier and allows it to slap back and forth. Pinion bearing, gear backlash too. You can check your rims by using a carpenters square with a pencil or such attached, to position just near the outer bead surface. Make sure the square stays solid on the floor and then rotate the wheel, you will see if the rim touches the pencil/pointer at any point. If funds allow, have them spin balanced and make sure to tell the technicion to check for rim runout. Really should have had a new driveshaft made.
I am guessing here but I would say unless the car was doing this before your "idiot" messed up your yoke that this is still a driveshaft problem.Care to explain why you decided to change u-joints and if it was because of the vibration that you changed them, did it begin suddenly or was it getting worse over time.
the idiot the idiot totalled the yoke had to take it to a guy and get a new one it was the same as before .it does it at 65 kmh and about 100 i am going to change motor mounts and the tranny mounts hopefully this will work.Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated
mavericks are very noitorious for vibrations, espcially engine vibrations ive owned 4 mavericks they all had that vibration through the steering wheel and in the seat
