one of the guys that races at sir in tucson got married on the starting line last night. another racer officiated, and john force and tony schumacher signed the license as witnesses. kind of neat having those signatures on your wedding license. they just mingled with the rest of us.:)

Now that's something different. I think a park full of mavericks and comets might be nicer for a wedding though :)

We tried to talk Ohio State Reps Wilbur and Susan Green into getting married at an MCCI event...but they didn't want to. :(

They ended up getting married the old fashiin way. How much fun is that?

    Weddings

We had the same thing here in Arkansas, a year or two ago. A couple from Searcy Ar got married on the start line with the Little Red Wagon of Bill "Maverick" Golden. Bill was the best man and knew the people personnaly, they were not racers but being Bill is also based in Searcy(or was anyway) and putting on a show at our track, it worked for all parties involved. He did an awesome run on the backwheels for 1000 + ft at around 135 mph. Luckily I got it all on tape for the second time he has been there. This year a fellow from Florida came up with a Chevy powered cab over truck and did another spectacular run on the back wheels(Mavericks is a Dodge and in the NHRA hall of fame). Bill is a bit older than myself if you can believe that! Kind of neat for a smaller track like ours.

You was reading my mind, Barry, but you put it more elegantly than I would have.
