These are the guys I got my glass from. Their ad says they can locate your RH glass. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-74-For...m3f58838949:m:m5osKCLMuVINVlJnidv9qZA&vxp=mtr Micah
Thanks, I'm getting my film tinting experiment tomorrow. I think I will wait to see how it turns out first. I see a Passenger side tint on ebay for about $400 with shipping and I'm not really wanting to pay that much (yet).
I now have the two different windows with film tint. See the pictures below. The one on the left is NOS tinted with film tint to around 30%. The one on the right is NOS clear with film tinted to 35%. The one in the middle is old factory tint, around 85%. There is a slightly greyer tint (less green) on the right clear glass and I like it better, however, I think they are close enough that I only I will notice the difference, and then only slightly. If this does not work out, off comes the film and I can recover in the future. Hopefully we will get some reproductions soon as the NOS door glass seems to be very limited. Thanks for all the suggestions!
Glad it worked for you. Now I dont feel guilty. Since you did not take the eBay deal, I did. Not that I need them now, but as you said, they are getting hard to find. NOS RH & LH tinted, to my door, $250. I'm going to stick them in the attic. Micah
Yep, I'll probably be regretting that! Thanks for the suggestion, I do appreciate it. This resto is breaking me and I am trying to hold back from what I know is right. In hindsight, I screwed up this time. Not the first time though.
I know how that goes. I did a spreadsheet on my restoration and I know what I spent. It was a lot. (I could have got a nice E-type Jaguar). Once I started down that path, there was no stopping it. The things I tried to save a buck on usually haunted me and I ended up redoing it at double the cost. Enjoy the ride, you cant take it with you. Micah
I only bring this post back to life to document experience. 2 of us were able to install the film tinted door glass easily with the regulator installed but without the weatherstrips/beltline/wipers installed. By temporarily removing the lower window bumper, the glass dropped low enough to get both weatherstrips in. No scratches yet on the film and there is no way to tell the difference between the two glass tints. I have seen many posts stating the beltline weatherstrips cannot be installed without removing the glass. If you open the door panel, removing the lower rubber bumper will allow the glass to drop low enough to get the weatherstrips in (or I finally got lucky)
