I just picked up my new door glass to install this weekend and one was tinted, the other not. My local sources say they can't find anymore. Can someone point me to a good source for door glass for a 1972 2 door Maverick grabber. One that either delivers or is in the Minneapolis Mn area?

    Thanks!

Try Pilkington. They had a batch of one side but not the other.

It took me a while to find all the NOS glass for my car. Check eBay. There is a seller that sometimes posts NOS galas. I got one from them but cannot recall the name.

I'll get back to you Monday on that. They are selling them for $100 each, so based what I see on ebay, Maybe I should snatch them up anyway for some future profit (or spare parts).

Just another indicator of how rare Maverick parts are getting!

Have you seen that guys "downsizing old Ford salvage yard" ads on our local craigslist? Search.. Ford Maverick or Mercury Comet and you will see his listing. Haven't been down there because of the distance but he's not very far at all from you in Hastings/Vermillion. Lemme know if there's anything left after you get through there and if it's still worth my trip. Happy hunting.

I have been there once before I was barely into this project. I saw about 6-8 Mavericks or Comets, none being in very good shape. See attached pictures. I did not find much, but now that I'm nearing the end of my restoration, I suspect I could have found something.

Thanks for the pics! Makes me want to go out there just for the nostalgia of being around older cars. Not many of those "older" yards left anymore. Kinda sad because these hulked out cars still have more character left in them than many new cars start out with right off the showroom floor.

I found drivers side tinted and passenger side clear. I don't care if it's tinted or clear, just need them to match!

No, that is something I need to do. I will do that once the paint is buffed out and partially assembled in a few weeks. It's finally starting to look good.

What type of glass do you have in your quarter windows and backlite glass? It'd be nice for the whole car to have matching glass. Unless you have both tinted and non-tinted versions of the rest of the glass?

I believe I have non-tinted glass in the 3 rear glass pieces which I just film tinted to 30% The film tint shop said they can closely match the two non-matching door glass windows with various shades of film. They said I would not be able to tell the difference, so I ordered the new non-matching door glass (one tinted, one not). I am interested to see the difference between factory tint and clear. I thought my existing glass was tinted green, but the film shop said it was clear and that all old glass is very green.

I replaced all my standard glass with NOS tinted. I would not describe the glass as very green.
