What's the best way to remove a rear quarter panel of a Mav or Comet when the junk yard does not allow cutting torches. Do you just break out the battery operated reciprocating saw?

Cordless Sawzall, and extra batteries and blades. Best to bring some hand shears along just in case.

I use battery operated YeLlow 4-1/2" angle grinder with cutting discs for 'field' work, - Zzip and clean cut panels , 18V Sawzall for thicker stuff if needed ...

    have fun

You would be surprised how much you can do with a saws all. This was a nice car but it went to Pick & Pull. A lot of it lives on in my car. I took both aprons too. By the time I was done, there was just a bumper and the engine laying on the ground with what was left of the body.

Wow, those panels were straight! If the roof didn't go AWOL it might have made a nice builder!

It was a really nice rust free car. The interior was almost perfect and the body was completely straight until Pick & Pull bashed it around. I think it was a one owner car that got junked because it failed smog. It had a new carb on it. When I got to it, no one had touched it. It looked like you could have jumped in and drove away. When I cut the roof off and the seat belt assembly from the sill, it folded in half.

I took the rear end, floor shifter, seat belts, entire power steering, bucket seat floor reinforcements, rear windshield and trim, the inner/outer shock tower supports. Plus, all the extra nuts, bolts and clips that I could grab.

I took the roof off it to get rid of my leaky sun roof. The shop screwed that up and another Maverick donated the entire roof.

It was a 6 banger, otherwise, I would have grabbed that stuff too.

It was such a nice car that I actually felt guilty when I was done.

Bring a hammer, chisel, hacksaw, gloves, tin snips, wire cutters, ear plugs and extra batteries is my advice to anyone who wants to chop one up.
