Does the dipstick on the truck motor go into the side of the engine block or the timing cover? If it goes into the block I would bet the motor won't fit without the proper timing cover and oilpan/oil pickup-tube combination. My experience is that truck parts, aside from the obvious shortblock are usually not car friendly when it comes to engine swaping.

NO, the truck pans this late are bigger and are rear sump like Fox body cars, I had to change the pan when I changed out the 351w in my 84 F 150, the donor engine came out of a 77 Granada , front sump. Truck pans are 6 quart, cars are 5 quart.

It will fit with the right pan, pickup and plug for the original dipstick tube. you will also need to change the timing cover to get one with a dipstick hole or drill yours. you didn't say what kind of tranny you have but don't put an older flywheel or flexplate on a newer engine.

squeal did this swap using a 86 302 out of a F-150. Dipstick was in the pan.....not sure what was involved....might sent him a PM and ask for additional help or thoughts.
