image.jpg Hey guys im new to the Maverick scene. Have yet to make my proper introductions in the new member forum, but mainly cause im too anxious to start working on my 71 Maverick 2-Door I just picked up.

I was wondering if you guys would be able to take a look at this front end picture and help me along with what pieces I will need to finish up the front end.

I know the obvious, grill, headlights, bumper.. But what im wondering is about EVERYTHING ill need. Like if theres a support between the grill and the engine bay? Or if the headlights will require headligh buckets? I cant tell these things bc im unfamiliar with the car still.

Any help would be appreciated! if this is the wrong place to post this i apologize in advance and please if you could direct me in the right direction.

    :Welcome: from Atlantic Canada!

The grille attaches to the center support that also contains your hood striker for the latch. You'll need headlight buckets, headlight trim rings and the two springs that hold tension on the buckets. Also, bumper brackets, bumper, turn signals, valance and don't forget the "Z" brackets that attach to the ends of the bumper and the stone guard/bumper filler (which is currently installed on your car).

Maybe these diagrams will help. Jeff (rthomas771) has them posted on his site @ www.1bad6t.com

Looks like you're just missing the rear valance, taillights and gas cap. Also check to make sure there are small filler pieces (17C837) that fit up under the quarter extensions and fill the gap between the body and the end of the bumper. It's hard to tell if they are there or not from the picture (bent bumper).

You have the front turn signals....I can see they wrapped around the stone guard.

That rear bumper looks like it had a decent hit. The trunk is out of alignment and the tank mounts look askew.

I had a similar hit to my car that pushed up the trunk floor and tweaked the frame a bit.

I would suggest having it checked before investing a lot of money.

Thanks 71Mavrk. I will definetly have it looked at before investing.

Luckily I only have $250 total in it so far which I paid for the Car and a motor & trans thats not currently in the Mav. So i cant complain much!

And to top it off the guy left his basically new condition AFC "racing seats" in it which i can likely sell to some ricer for $250 haha.

    I appreciate the concern!

Im not too sure if it is as serious as you think. Mind you in this picture its strapped down cockeyed on the trailer still and theres no motor or trans in it. I also can guarantee the trailer isnt sitting on flat ground and one of the straps in the X is likely ratcheted tighter than the other. Just sayin!!

I'm gonna get some pictures of it sitting in the garage here in the next couple days and post them on a future thread.

From the pictures you have displayed, it looks repairable. For the money I don't C where U can go too far wrong. I also, think having the frame/chassis integrity checked B4 spending a lot of money.
