Shock tower cut!!!!!

Oh poopy pants!!!! I forgot about something to ask.... ok this dude that I got the Grabber from.. (found this out after the fact), well he tried to put a 351W in it.. and him being a Chevy guy had no idea about these cars... well anyways.. he banged the crap out of the shock towers.. they aren't too badly bruised... but on the driver's side shock tower... there is a cut about an inch wide.. and a foot long... going vertical on the shock tower... maybe not a foot.. How bad is this... and what can I do?

how far in did he beat them?
You can cut alot of that away bout 1 1/2 inches if I remember right

 

they aren't beat in too much... it's the cut that worries me

Probably as many cut shock towers on this board as not cut...well Ok, maybe exaggerated there....but its done all the time. Pretty simple mod really. If I knew how to weld....I could do it and I am a IDIOT when it comes to mechanical stuff.

 

Ya like john said people cut 1in or so off a lot and then just weld something on there to make it look purdy. Shouldn't hurt anything I wouldn't think.. If its already ready for 351w you should go ahead and drop one in

If its accessible, just get someone to weld it up. If you feel like taking a trip over the bridge, I can do it for you.

You have to pull the motor to shave the shock towers. Plus you need some 1/8 plate steel.

 

Can you post a picture of the cut? OH yea, dont say "poopy pants" in my garage.

I am compeled to do so because I was told my car is junk, someone previous to me has beaten my towers also and my quest for repaires had ended being told that.
