Manual steering box has grease spewing out

    So by the looks of it my steering box is shot. Steering is pretty rough right now and my wheel has a lot of wiggle and shaking. Should I just buy a new one? Or are there any power steering options for our cars?

    There is no rebuilt kits available for the gear box. You can buy a rebuilt one or get one from someone who as one.

    Melvins Classic Ford sells the bearings/seals rebuild components for the gearbox.

    Did you check the steering coupler to make sure its good before you condem the box?

    It's grease and it's all over the steering box.

    if it's that greasy then the worm gear may be OK, just needs resealed...:yup:

    Yeah turning is not the greatest and I have a lot of play I'm the wheel while going down the road.
