Does anyone have a heads up on installing the new beltline weather strip in the doors? Do you have to take the window out to do that? If so, the windows appear to have snap type grommets through the support and the window.

It doesn't look to easy to try to take those out to get the window out. In fact one is already broke, so the window doesn't ride up and down even in the guide.

Is it possible to just take the whole window actuation support loose, and drop the window down farther into the door?

Anyone? I appreciate any heads up or where to find this info....

I haven't tackled that project yet......it does sound interesting though. Maybe one of the more experienced members can shed some light on this subject.(y)

I helped chad take one out at the junkyard, the mechanical bolts to the
door frame and to the window. when unbolted it trops several inches to the bottom of the door. If i remember correctly.....getting old and the memory is fading.

    ...piece of cake...(y)

with the door panal off, take a coin (i use a quarter) and pop the plastic pin out of the channel that is on the glass. then the glass comes out the top. to reinstall..put the plastic pin back in. if it is being hard you ain't doing it right...
some times people put bolts in place of the pins. if this is the case take the bolts (out of the glass) and replace them with the correct plastic pins.:Handshake ...anymore questions???
P.S. last time i was in Ellijay, was for the ...apple fest...

    Thanks! I will try it!

This sounds good.....I always think everything should be a "piece of cake"

The plastic piece appears to be snapped into the glass, it does look like there is some sort of center expander pin. I will give it a go and hopefully not break anything on the way.

By the way, one of those are broken on the drivers side, so that one just falls out. Is there a place that you can get these snaps?

I don't think you need to take the window out. Roll the window all the down and unsnap the wheather strip off. Do one side than the other. A lot easier than taking the window out.

Now... How do they go back in? I took mine out awhile ago & can't remember witch way the new ones go back in. One in flat & the other has sort of a mound on it.

I tilt the front down, first and work the rest of the window in GENTLY "u don't want to break it". It just a matter of patience and working it around. That's what I did last year, when I replaced my weather strip. Also, gud idea to put in new plastic pins in the regulator - while ur at it.

I removed and replaced mine just by rolling the windows down.
