Just signed up as I;ve stumbled upon a very solid looking 71,72,73? Mav.grabber, the owners wife is not sure what year it is & is desperately looking for the ownership so I can purchase this 39,000 mile little Maverick.
So, I haven't even looked under her yet, any areas I should look at for rust, damage, were based in the snow belt!
Do the Mav's have tork boxes like my Fairlanes do?
Any hints, or things to look for please do share, oh, its a V-8 I;m assuming a 302, stick car but can't get passed locked doors yet, assuming a 3 speed?
    Thanks for any help

They do have torque boxes. Look for leaks in the cowl, these tend to cause the floors to rust out. Get a flash light and look under the dash by the fresh air vents. Look under the passenger front fender at the backside of the battery area. Also look at the welded seams where the front fenders bolt on. The bottom of the doors. If the drain holes are clogged up and sometimes even if they aren't you will get a lot of rust there. And the normal quarter panel rot.
If you get a chance get the VIN number. That will tell you what year it is.

:Welcome: from New Brunswick! Check the cowl for leaks, the torque boxes for rot and the front floor pans for rust. Another common area for rust is the very bottom edge of the quarter panels directly behind the rear wheels. With low mileage like that, it SHOULD be pretty good, but who knows?? Post up some pictures if you have any. If it is a REAL Grabber, the 3rd and 4th digits in the VIN will be "93". What colour combo is it?

Look forward to seeing what you're getting!

Welcome to site! Yes it has torque boxes. As for rust, it's 40+ years old in the snow belt...might be how much as opposed to where

Something to keep in mind: very little is made for the Mavericks as far as rust repair panels.

    :Welcome: from central VA!

If the car is a stick shift it will be a 3 speed unless someone has changed it. 4 speeds weren't available in the Mavericks and Comets.
