So I understand mavericks got a makeover in the mid 70s. Besides the bumpers did anything really change as far as body? Basically if I were forced to pick up a layer maverick how much work would it take to make it appear as an early Grabber? Or would I be better off just hunting an early 70s model?

The bumpers are the biggest exterior change. They also went from a full vinyl top (on cars so equipped) to a 'halo' vinyl top.

The interiors got rid of the package tray and replaced it with a regular glove box. The door armrests and inside door handle changed als0.

We have a '75 Comet GT that we recently got that someone had already converted to small bumpers and most people think it is a '71 or '72 car.

Ok good to know! And the grabber spoiler can be fitted to a Maverick without one correct?

Correct! You can just buy the 3 pieces of the spoiler and drill holes in your existing decklid or you can also buy a decklid from a Grabber that already has the holes drilled in it.

Our '75 Comet GT was actually fitted with the Grabber ducktail spoiler before it was repainted. It looks good on the car!

Later model fenders would have to be notched for the front valance. Many people have made the later models look like early models. Not all that hard to do.

Beginning in '75, there is a hump on the passenger-side to accommodate a catalytic converter. This means that if you want to install bucket seats, you will need the later-model tracks for the passenger side.
