I just bought a 31 spline 9 inch rear end from Quick Performance Inc. that I need to mate up to my T-5. I'm guessing a few of you guys have this combo. My preference would be aluminum but my main objective is to get the two ends hooked up. Looking for suggestions. Thanx in advance.

Yes, You'll have to use a combination U joint though to mate the shaft with the rear.

Same combination here. With the car sitting on the ground and using an old trans yoke I measured u-joints center-to-center distance from the trans to the rear, deducted about 3/4" for movement from that measurement and called The DriveLine Shop. Saw their add in a magazine, don't even know if their still in business. Talked to the guy and he asked all kinds of questions about my car, I was running nitrous at the time so I wanted something strong. They made me a custom 3" shaft with new yokes and u-joints that fit the T5 and 9" and was dynamically balanced for $200 shipped to my door. That was many years ago, the price has probably gone up since. There are a bunch of places that make custom driveshafts.

I have the 3 1/2 aluminum ford racing drive shaft 45 1/2 in long center to center on the cups. It was in my maverick with c4 trans and 9 in rear, rear yoke was 3 5/8 wide with 1 1/8 th cups on rear u-joint.It has 75 passes on it with a 347 with no troubles at all.I changed to a 3 1/2 steel shaft with 1350 yokes and spicer solid u-joints because the 418w has 230 + more HP than the 347 so it's FOR SALE $ 175.00 + shipping . I got a good deal on it so I am passing it on,let me know.

A combination joint has one side that fits the driveshaft, the other cups fit the differential yoke. (or transmission slip yoke)
