This weekend was the Mirror Cross. Basically, you take drag racing and make it an autocross. You have mirror image tracks on each side and you launch to a tree. There really isnt a competition with the other driver but does take a bit of discipline not to make it one. We did 6 runs on each side.

I was having issues with my Go-Pro but did get it working. Unfortunately, I couldnt stop it between runs so you get to hear the banter between myself and the "ballast" rider as well as my grumblings when I screwed up. I did all my runs with a rider with the exception of my last 2 of the event. (no video of those) Turns out, my car feels better without the extra ballast. These were my best runs of the day. Had I a couple more runs, there was a 68 Camaro with a supercharger and 335 BFG's on all corners I would have surely taken down.

Enjoy... the best run of the video is at 11:00

Awesome Job! It is so cool to watch you and Bryant run these cars on Autocross courses. Stefan should start a new Sub-Forum for Autocross, just like the Drag Racing one. With the popularity of Pro-Touring and the development of chassis components currently in the works for our cars, I see this branch of Motorsports becoming more popular with Maverick and Comet enthusiasts.

    Speaking of Pro-Touring
Speaking of Pro-Touring. There is a new magazine on the shelves titled "Pro Touring". There is a photo with the Mav chasing down a Camaro. Im quite proud of how good it looks in the photo. I'll post a photo of the photo later this evening.

Amazing! I love the sound of your car, it appears to be quieter than I thought it was, or is it the recording? May I ask what kind of exhaust setup do you have? Thanks!:thumbs2:

It had some nice fast sweepers but the slolom though short, was really tight.

Thanks. I am using the sealed case on the GoPro so it is cutting the sound level way down. The next time I go out, I'll try the open case to see how it sounds. I have Doug's shorty headers, Flowmaster Super 44's, with a 2.5" true duel exhaust. Its pretty loud.

Im running it again this weekend. Should be fun. Competition is going to be a little higher as there are some actual CAM-S entrants that I have not seen.

    My competition for this Sunday:
It kind of odd how there are none of the new Camaros registered. Lots of Mustangs though. The 2015 are tough to beat. I should prob take them off the list but oh well.

Well. You know the saying... "A bad day (insert hobby here) is better then a day at work. Well.... Let me tell you. This race day SUCKED. I rained twice today. The first time was just as my run group was getting to grid. The other time was just as my work group was going out to our stations. For those of you not familiar with the autocross scene... You are typically split into run groups and work groups. Your run group will drive a heat and then work another. Well.. I got to watch my competition drive in the dry while I was soaked and then work in the rain again. I want a do-over.

    Video to come.

man that sucks. it must be tricky to run an autocross on wet surface. here they say they have never had to cancel an event to rain. they run in the rain. i suspect its been a long time sense it has rained during an event.
