Afteer countless hours the last 6 months we got my Daughters Car out to the track for test and tune. She went consistant 14.10 at 96 MPH. My best light was .030. Need to get better. I wish my Dad built me a nice car like this for my 16th birthday. Thanks Everyone for all the help. The car hooks up and drives straight out of the hole. It is now ready for her to drive.
I'd like the amswer to that too. Looks like a Fiero GT wing that I had originally planned to use on mine. Saw one mounted to the back of a '71 Torino one time and fell in love with it ever since. Didn't look tall that bad on the back of a Fiero either. lol Nice respectable times for a 16 year old to cut teeth on. These cars are light.. the faster ET's will come pretty easy with some additional tuning and upgrades without breaking the bank to get there.
That is the big topic of the weekend. I did not do the paint and body work. This is how the car looked when I inherited it. My Pops Ron was a junk yard guy. I have been trying to figure it out as well.
Great work in a short period of time! There is an team of two sisters and a brother with heavy influence from dad that run Oldsmobile's at one of the local tracks. All three are mid `70s cars running from high 13s to very low 12s. They are fun to talk with, always very excited about what they have accomplished. Their mom and dad are very proud! Why don't you consider placing your daughter's car specifications in your Status Message like a number of us have done. I'm confident you will be asking more questions in the future as to how to make the car quicker. It will provide us good reference.
Unless those heads have been extensively ported, they're at least part of the bottle neck... What cam is in it? Unknown? If so, vacuum at idle? Exhaust system size? Does it have headers?
A set of AFR 165's, TFS 170's or similar, combined with some link bar retro hydraulic lifters and a decent hydraulic roller cam should easily drop your ET a second or more.
