Hi Allen: You've already received some excellent advice according to the posts I've read . In my humble opinion .. I would recommend you tune your CARBS "YOURSELF" before you consider a dyno-pull . Tuning a Dual-Quad setup can be labor intense if you're not experienced in this field .. If your carbs are close to each other ( and they usually are) it will be difficult to remove the bowls to get to the areas necessary to "tune" them without removing the carbs from the manifolds which may prove necessary for some of the procedures involved . I've had 4 BBLS tuned on several of my cars before I switched them all to Fuel Injection and I know its possible to tune a carb where it will perform well. When I tuned 'my' 408 with a Vic Jr. and a Demon 750 it was off and on several times before it performed like I wanted it to . Some of the procedures necessary for the carb work was "pin drills" on the Idle Feed Restrictors, then we used a Wide Band 02 also to dial things in . I found that with a good tune my 408 was satisfactory as to the power developed . After my carb work was done .. I didn't think a dyno was necessary because it ran great . Just my two cents Allen: I wish you success in your project. Cometized (Chip)
Thanks everyone for your feed back and responses. I have decided to wait for the Dyno test till the motor is broke in and I have the carbs adjusted the best that I can adjust them. Thanks again for your responses. Allen Small.
