ok I got the right U-bolts now. I live near a NPD and picked up u-bolts for 64 mustang, they look the right size and should work. The problem I just noticed now is the perches on the new rear are 3" wide instead of 2-1/2" (wider leafs on the falcon I guess?) now it seems I can't just re-drill holes in the maverick spring plate because they would be to close to the edge of the plate, as well as the nuts landing inconveniently on contoured surfaces rather than a solid flat spot. In order to make it work I'd practically be rebuilding the whole plate. So now that I've rambled on enough, my question is is there a plate that will work? It was mentioned before that I should use an early model shock/spring plate, any suggestions where I might find these? new or used is fine just want to get back on the road

two of the passenger side spring plates from a 65 mustang should get the job done.

Why not 1 left and 1 right side? Wouldn't the drivers side shock mount end up behind the axle? not doubting your advice just curious how it works out that way
