I have a Gilmer belt system on my Maverick. My car came with non-functional A/C and leaking P/S so I removed them both. Now it sounds like I have a gear drive and I like it. If I do reinstall the A/C, I'll have to modify the compressor mount to use the v-belt drive at the rear of the crank pulley.

Only a blower would make the noise bearable...maybe lol

    Jad,
No, it is quieter than a gear drive. I'm keeping the A/C and already sold the power steering, sorry. The wheels are 7" x 14" American Racing 200s that I've owned for 42 years (wow). I've used them on my 1st Maverick, an Aerostar minvan and my daughter's Ranger and now on this car. The tires are BFG Radial T/As. The front tires are 225/70-14 and the rear tires are 245/60-14.

    Joe,
I like good mechanical sounds. My car currently has no carpet and I'll be able to hear the gear whine in the 4-speed until the carpet and underlayment are installed.
