Really don't know if I should post this on the technical post or general post, its not a technical question, so her I go.,,,, the mirror (glass) that I bought from Melvin's for the driver side sport mirror, is smaller then what came out. It is, on the other hand the same size as the passenger side. My question is,,, did Melvin's send me the wrong one or is there indeed a size difference. ?

I know there's a top and bottom when replacing the lens. If you get it backwards the corners on the sides won't look right. This is why the Dorman replacement lens has a mirrored finish on both sides of the glass so it can fit either side...so they clam. I do know the Dorman lens fits the passenger's side but their quality is another story.

Yes, Melvins sent you the wrong lenses.. Early 69 Fords and prior, both lenses were the same size, begining in late 69 until mid to late 70's the drivers side mirror glass was a little wider than the pass. side.

Passenger's side is a piece of cake...if you can get the two screws out holding the lens assembly to the head without destroying the screw head. You might want to remove the mirror from the door and be sure to use a good fitting quality screwdriver to remove these screws or you will mess up the screw head.
