Would using pink toyota antifreeze in a sbf cause any issues. I already have about 4 gallons of the stuff and would like to use it if it won't cause any problems. It would be going in a cooling system that doesn't have any coolant in it so contamination isn't a concern. Meets ASTM specs ASTM D-3306 and ASTM D-4340, if we have any coolant experts here.

As long as you don't mix it with purple or any other coolant.

If you mix it, it might coagulate with the other stuff, making a jelly paste in the cooling passages.

I know that coolant type is usually determined by the composition of the types of metals in the cooling system but I don't think you'll have any issues in the Maverick as long as you're using the same type when you add or service it from here on out.
Of note, however, I changed mine to Ford Gold at one time for the same reason as you and the water pump started leaking two days after. Coincidence, maybe, but I changed it back to green anyway.

Everything is new as far as the cooling system except the heater core, so I'll give it a try. This is for my 95 f150 but figured I'd ask here anyway. I was figuring it'd be ok in my iron head/block as the stuff is made to go in aluminum head/blocks.
