Can anyone give me a source for the gas tank seal and fuel sending unit filter for a 72 Maverick. This is holding me up from getting it on the road.

Not sure about the gas tank seal, but AutoKrafters carries the sending unit.

My sending unit if fine. I just need the filter that goes on the intake tube.

The seal I need is the filler tube to gas tank seal doughnut that fits into the top of the tank.

You can buy the little sock filter for the sending unit from Ford parts. I bought one a few months ago...think it was about $7.00. I would imagine you'll have to get the donut seal for the filler neck used. Should be some available from some of the members.

I found various Mustang dealers that have the seal. The problem is that I do not know if it is the same dimensions as the one for the Maverick. I guess I will have to gamble and go mail order.

I know the 65-70 Mustangs do not use this donut seal. Theirs is just a piece of rubber hose that connects the end of the filler neck to the neck on the tank. Not sure what the 71 and up take.

I saw that one. John's Mustang had the same seal for $14.95 plus shipping. Decisions, decisons, decisions,...
