Yes, we had the original 'family truckster' but I don't remember seeing Cristie Brinkley in a red Ferrari though!!

    WinterBlue,

Your pics brought up some good memories .... one my buddies had a 1 gen Capri, and the guy he had bought it from had done a cam, small 4 barrel and headers on that car, and for a V6 it was a blast. Another friend had one of the first wave of 240 Z cars, which were hot rodded by the factory. He was using his as a daily driver, and put a milder cam in it so that it wasn't so ornery.

This was my first "new" car. '58 Fairlane 500, 352 cu. in., 300 hp, three on the tree. I picked it up on a Saturday morning, put glasspacks on in the afternoon. We did some fine tuning and went to the drag strip on Sunday. Next was a Sun tach and a Hurst floorshift conversion. It made a lot of trips to the drag strip.
I got tired of white. I put a '57 hood on, removed the door handles and trunk lock and painted it red. During the winter of '60-'61 I put the cam, valve train and various other parts Ford made for the 390 cu. in., 401 hp'61 hi-po engine. I added a carter AFB carb. I drove it and raced it in '61. I got married in '62 and got out of the hobby for about ten years. I wouldn't take a milli Misc. Car Pictures 013.jpg on for the memories. Misc. Car Pictures 008.jpg

    Agreed!!!

I had a '58 as well but was 10 years old when I got it, was a automatic and a four door, but it did have the 300Hp Interceptor 352, with a peg leg 2.69 rear... Would fry the RR tire for half a block...
