The sockets in my Comet GT grill lights are rotted out. Has anyone found a way to replace them? I was looking on the internet and found these: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/10pc...e-Lamp-Bulb-Adapter-Converter/1584696471.html I was thinking perhaps I could punch the old ones out and insert these. Any help will be, as always, appreciated.
The description sounds correct but the photo doesn't match the factory part. The correct socket is three wire and the top of the socket is flush with the base of the enclosure. Turns out that Advanced Auto had a universal socket that worked out fine. All I had to do was increase the diameter of the hole the socket goes into just a tad. Funny how the jobs you think will be difficult turn out to be simple while the jobs that you think are simple are the real monsters.
Bob, I am glad you got it fixed. I am puzzled however by your statement that the socket fit flush with the base of the enclosure?... I assure you the one in the photo Jeff attached is correct. I have never seen a socket fit flush with the base, I have numerous parking lamps here and none fit flush?
61 and already senile or maybe it's my ADHD! is getting worse Sorry for that. I hadn't looked at the lamp in a few days and in my minds eye I described it wrong.
