cammed?

    is there any way to find out if my 302 came with a aftermarket cam already without pulling the engine apart? because the engine sounds like its cammed.

    you can put a dial indicator on the valve spring retainers of an intake and an exhaust and see what the lift numbers are. with those numbers you can see if they are close to stock or aftermarket cam lift values.

    If it has any kind of a lope to it at all,then it is not stock.

    Retarding the timing, or having a very rich idle can make it sound cammed even with the stock cam.
