The Autolite 2100 on my 302 isn't getting gas to my engine. If I pour gas directly into it she starts right up, but it won't start if I just try to crank it. Fuel fills the float bowl but doesn't go any further than that. I've replaced my fuel filter, cleaned my carb and my jets and it still won't start. Any ideas?

does the accelerator pump work? when you move the throttle you should see gas squirt in to the barrels of the carb.

I have it apart right now checking the acc pump. Could it be the umbrella valve?

it could be. have you tried starting it with throttle held about half open? does the choke work? is it fully closed or a little bit open or fully open?

The throttle stays slightly open. I think I may have put the accelerator pump spring in backwards. Could that cause the issue? I've tried it with the gas peddle compressed various amounts and no change

it should at least want to start with the accelerator pump not working correctly. it will die when you give it any gas with the accelerator pump not working. its also hard to prime to start with out the accelerator pump being able to give a squirt before you crank it.
so, does the accel pump squirt?
are you refering to the choke flap or the throttle blades when you say "The throttle stays slightly open"?

Both are slightly open. Idk what I did but it's running now! I took it for a quick drive tonight after I got off of work and its a beast with manual drum brakes, but a ton of fun. Bryant, thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it. This is the first naturally aspirated car that I've worked on so I'm trying to learn all that I can.
