I know few of us still run drums, but I'm have the hardest time installing my new shoes. I put all the springs on and the whole nine yards, but the stupid parking brake link wont allow the front shoe to align properly and pushes the shoe forward. Has anyone had this happen with new shoes and how do you go about fixing this?

A couple of stupid questions, is the self adjusting screw tightened to it's smallest length, and are you sure the parking brake arm is attached to the proper place on the shoe?

The new shoes matched the old shoes.
Unfortunately, my parking brake has not worked since I got the car :slap:

The adjusting screw was at the smallest length and I'm pretty sure the arm was attached at the right place. However, in order to save time and a headache, I just left the arm out since the parking brake wasn't functional. I need to do the conversion here pretty soon though

Pics would be a huge help. Are you sure you installed the correct "side" parts here ? (drivers side on the drivers side, pass side on the pass side) The self adjusters are side specific as are the hardware that it hangs from. When I swapped in the 9 inch rear in mine, I used the 81 Bronco drum brakes on it that came on the donor rear I bought. Everything hooked right up to the 77 Comet parking brakes without issues.
