Hey everyone. I am looking into some new rims and not quite sure what to get and what size for clearance. I was thinking 15x8's.
Maybe you all could give some ideas of what you have seen or what you might have.
    maybe even have for sale.
    Thanks!

I would need to see a picture of the car, so I would know which wheels would look good on it.

Really need to know what look you are going for. Are you wanting a stock apprearence? Race look? or late model cruiser? or old school hotrod?
I am a firm believer that wheels determine that attitude of the car. Wheels are not to be taken lightly.

    A lot depends on $$
Cragar S/S are classic and affordable.

Magnum 500's look good and give a factory appearance.

I would stick to a narrower width than 8' for the fronts
unless you are going for the road racer look.

In my opinion the first thing you need to do is sit down, and like john said know what you are wanting as far as appearence and really take a close look at that style of wheels. Something that a friend of mine taugh me was to take a picture of your car and cut out the wheels in the pic and then find a mag, that has the wheels you are looking for and lay the pic over the wheel one at a time and then you can get an idea of what your car will look like with those wheels on it. (Just an idea)

But most of all you need to find the wheels that you really want and if you can't afford those save alittle longer and get the ones you want because of there expense hard to buy a new set every year because they just weren't what you wanted.

    good luck
    Neal

Like John suggests...you need to have an idea of the type of wheel you want. You should search through the photo gallery and should see enough cars with different wheels to give you an idea. :hmmm: You can then possibly contact that member and find out what he's got. If not, let us know what you are looking at and maybe we can help then. Good luck.:)

here is the results of a quick search I did at www.sumittracing.com go there and do a word search.... "wheels"

here is 5 different wheels....5 different styles....all at a fair price of $150 or less.
Point being (and I will delete these attachements in a few days;) ) that the choices are endless....and it is all up to you and your wallet.
    Again, decide the look.
Neal and Ray both excellent ideals. Wheels are as important as paint when making the car what it "is".

    I really like the 500's.
If you are going for that original, period correct look.....on top of a sharp wheel. 500's is the $hit IMO.

no doubt .....$700 worth of wheels and tires on my $500 car made it look like a $1200 car:clap:
j/k I like the Cragar s/s look myself very much ....... get a calendar .....should be some good ideas there .......Robert
oh and mine are 14 x 8 (i think 8) and the look is just great, but I also think the tire is as important as the wheel, to me the same size in a cheapy tire doesn't look near as good as say BFG radial t/a 's

now Derrick:tsk: I did not say I liked those that I posted:D ....was merely giving an ideal of all the different types that are out there:huh:

As for me......Derrick, you can just leave the ones on the white 73' and ship it(wheels and car) on over to me:bouncy:

I'm a redneck,I think aluminum slots still look good. But to to be honest,IMO,you can't beat a set of american racing torque thrusts(or TT 2's).They'd make a haywagon look sexy.
