okay. 1974 grabber v8 c4 102k miles... about two months ago I had to replace my vacuum modulator after having poor shifting issues and jumping on the forum to discover checking the vac line for fluid and sure enough there was fluid.. so after putting in green stripe vac mod I still had shift flare action from two to three along with fast 1-2 shift and weak passing gear action.. meaning passing gear would engage under normal throttle. I bought the car with b&m megashifter and pondered if the shift linkage may be off so I went on drivers side and it appears the linkage is blocking my band adjuster bolt from putting a torque on it so I adjusted the bolt by hand. no fix same symptoms. also I didn't even touch the reverse gear clutch since I didn't think that would have any effect on forward gears. am I wrong? anyhow I meant to mention, when I pulled my trans pan there was a yellow bobber in the pan which I know means the pan was never pulled in its life. so, there wasn't anything in the own as far as shavings etc but I did feel a bit worried to see the screen in the original filter was 85% gone but yea. I changed the filter and no improvement after wards. I have tried seafoam transtune and no improvement. any help would be great guys. the trans will hit gears nicely if I shift manually. and in drive it shifts ok until it gets hot then the flares etc occur :/
okay I did cut a piece off of a vac line going to manifold but wasn't sufficient so I used new vac line but doesn't have the 90° angle so i curved it and connected it I need a vacuum gauge dang it!
