So a little back story. My father purchased a 1976 ford maverick with a 250 I6 for around $750. Some rust, completely original and in good shape interior and a few out of place push rods. I got it for christmas 2005 IIRC. I had driven the car daily to school and work and what not. I found this forum and kinda did little work here and there with radio and some other little things. Well I ended up selling it for $750 in 2009 for a 4G63 1st gen Eclipse build. My only regret wast letting that car walkaway.

I've been in the motorcycle scene for the past 5 years and have enjoyed every moment of it. But in recent times I had one friend die, and I've seen one accident that was of no fault to the rider, put him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. I'm only 24 and I'm not ready for that.

So I drove out 2 hours from east of cincinnati, ohio to waddy, ky and picked up a 1970 maverick. I've always liked the small bumpers and I had to have it. Got it for $2500, and had to trailer it back home. Messed with the distributor a bit, fixed a battery cable, and it's running waayyyyy better. Now I have a stuck choke on the implanted 1976 mustang II 302 2 barrel.

I'm finishing my new to me garage from a house me and my wife just recently purchased so work will be slow, but I plan on a full MII suspension to start. just gotta get my lift set up and electric run to the garage for the fun to begin.

:Welcome: back from a fellow repeat-MMB-customer! There are a lot of similarities between your story and mine, so I can definitely relate.

Can't wait for pictures!! Maybe time to change your avatar, unless you're paying homage to the first one...:D...in which case, that's cool!!

Looks like a great start! 5-bolt wheels already, and a solid looking body.(y)

Why not start a new thread in the project section so we know where to go to follow your progress - lots of pictures of course - what Mustang II conversion are you thinking of using :)

I am hoping to do the RC-107 from rod and customs. Go with the complete kit for $3k. I'm to the point now that I want a good mean road track car. I like the drag racing look, but everyone does it, and I don't like just going in straight lines. I want to make this car take a corner like my old door wedge camaro. Coil over set up in the rear if I can possibly.

I will most definately start a build thread. It's going to be very slow but I'll show y'all some of the progress with the garage and getting it setup for working on the mav. And TBH, I'm going to get a 2 post lift before I get the MII kit. But the car needs alot of work anyway, so I'll start small.

Also if anyone can turn me to a good intake and exhaust setup that help the 302 breathe better would be greatly appreciated. I want to put a 4 barrel carb I have sitting around on it because the old 2 barrel is really worn and just giving me issues.
