On my new engine (1995 5.0) do I use a pvc valve and a vented oil cap ? or just use a vented cap on each valve cover...
I'm using a open element cap on driver valve cover and PCV in the passenger valve cover, was last used on 1967 models...
I have a pvc in passenger valve cover plumed to the back of the carb and a mustang breather cap with a hose attached to the air cleaner on the drivers side... This is on my old engine and seemed to work well, so I'll transfer it over to the new engine...
Anything you can do to suck the oil fumes out of the engine is a positive,it will stay much cleaner inside.
The factory ran a PCV valve in the driver-side rocker cover, connected to a vacuum fitting on the back of the carb (or EGR spacer plate as the case may be). You can run an open element on the opposite side (I run a hose to the air cleaner).
hardy..har..har.. you guys better enjoy my lack of posting time while you can and be thankful for all the extra free time it allows for you to work on your cars! And if we went on character counts rather than post counts around here?.. I'd be damned close to passing Frank up by now.
