I removed my headliner today and I noticed a small hole beside the coat hook above the 1/4 window. I don't remember 73 mavericks having shoulder belts.? Or is it for something else.?
My 73 has these crappy shoulder belts that have to be manually hooked into the lap belt, and they're non adjustable. Someone probably removed them cause they're stupid(the belts) .
Make sure you mark all your bows, so can put them back in the same place... they only work in one spot... Now is the time to think about seat belts, if you want good after market 3 point belts you might have to modify the mounting point to a new location...
This is what I found out while getting a set of bows from a '71 Grabber. Starting at the front windshield and going back to the rear glass the colors are Black, Pink, Grey and Gold. The last bow will have two small retaining wires that hook over the bow and the other end hooks through a hole in the roof rail above the back windshield. The different color ends go toward the drivers side, the passenger side of the bows are all painted yellow. The bows went in the lower holes in the roof rail.
headliner. I got the colors right, front to back but I just checked to see if there all yellow on the pass side. but of course not, the yellow ones are on the driver side. will that effect anything?
^^ I don't think it matters which yellow end goes where. Most likely the guy at the factory was either right handed or left handed when he was threading the bows
I have to give credit to the on line workers at ford back in the day for doing this kind of work so fast.
Going to try this again. lost my other reply and pic,s The rats made a nest in my insulation above the visors, the back half looked good so I used it in the back area pillar area. All in all there is no rust under the roof area. Bought document clips to hold the liner to the pinch seal, looking for good contact cement for headliner, one that is not a spray. Would the black weather seal cement work for liner too?
installed headliner Head liner is in, It wasn't that bad. I have a few wrinkles but I'm sure I can work it out with a heat gun after the glass gets installed. And for you guys that like Pictures... The pictures won't load,,, I did a snip of the warning,,, and it loaded..... This stuff hurts my brain.
